This is a promotion video for my 2D Platform Game - The Paradise, which I made with Unity, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effect and Adobe Illustrator for my university assignment in UK. There is 3 endings based on the choices player make. The story is about a soul (player) born from a stone and meet the god of the “Paradise”. The god took it to visit around the place. Through this journey, the soul will need to choose what it want to end with.
In that time, the game is half finished, so the presentation showed the research, brainstorm and storyboard of that first half of the story. The presentation also portrayed the character settings and world setting, and explain how I used those creatures as symbols, each as the white elephant, which is a phase to symbolise some building projects in Hong Kong, are wasteful and caused civilians suffering financially.
Here are the prospectus, which made with Adobe Indesign, contains the character design, UI design, parts of the storyboard, inspiration, brief of the story and the other documents for calculating the risk if I can finish the work on time, etc. During writing the prospectus, I thought that I can complete the third stage and the true ending of the game. In the end, I just finished the first second stage at the deadline and finished the whole game at summer holiday. In which, I found that I always have bad time management, and think that I can finish a year project in a short period of time. So I learnt to think more realistic and decrease the workload of the project.
