In the design, I used Adobe illustrator to create graphics design of the product packages.
The game sets in a time when the resources on earth is used up and the world end is coming. Only those who gain enough renewable energy, can make a transportation to escape from the earth before the end. In this game, we are aimed to entertain players, enhance players' response ability and analytical skill. It educates players to protect our earth by reducing the usage of the unrenewable energy and not wasting our limited resources.
In this group project, I'm responsible for the instructional video, parts of the board game's graphics design and the building of the product. I edited an instructional video to teach players how to play in a more easier and direct way. By adding funny sound effects and commenting, viewers will be more interested in the broad game.
Since the setting is on earth, I tried to use an earth which is breaking into 2 parts but it seems to not suitable to the style of the game. The game will present in an elegant way to create a contrast with the background of the game and funny card design. At first, I based on real pictures of "World End" to choose the main color tone, but I find brown will give a dirty first image and I want to express the day before the "World end", so I choose dark blue as the main color, since it seems modern, and give the image of future, which is the setting of the story take place. Also, the night sky can give the impression of world end than a day sky.
Here is the instructional video that I edited. Since the group assessment is done in Hong Kong, we used Cantonese to promote our product. In the video, we introduce that the 5 transportation cards, that the different transportations will affect the amount of people, who can use it to escape. These transportation cards need unrenewable elements as material to build it, like water, wind, light, biological or man power.
