In this website design group project, we need to use Adobe Dreamweaver to learn to code with HTML, CSS and Javascript to recreate and redesign the original website of the Division of Applied Science & Technology of the Community College of City University. I'm responsible for designing the logo design of the team, visual layout designs of the website, and assisting in parts of the coding and the organisation of the written documents, such as proposals and meeting minutes, etc.
In the original website design, there are a large amount of invalid and space-consuming hyperlinks. In the highlighted information for the "Associate Degree Programmes", there are three inaccessible hyperlinks that link to three different pages. Which, the circle layout design will mislead the users to think that it's a button that is connected to one hyperlink, so we reorganised the whole layout and delete these hyperlinks. We also decided to add icons to the design for different associate degree programmes to keep text and space minimised.
For the colour theme tone, we decided to change from dark green to dark blue and pale blue colour as shown, because the feeling of technology and science fits better with the colour blue. Also, we tried to use more white colour in our design, as it wouldn't steal the focus of the black text and colourful pictures of the alumni.
